According to Google’s update Title tag must be under 70 characters. Mobile search results appear up to 78 characters. However, not only use keywords wisely but also wrap your title tag with a good headline and updated content.

Enhance visibility with SEO-Friendly URLs

Most importantly, while creating a new page, be sure to have an SEO-friendly URL and consider your target keywords. Page URLs should be short, simple and keyword focused to process for both readers and search engines.

URL structure is important because it helps Google to understand page importance. Avoid using special characters, symbols, and many more within the actual URL is one of the best on-page SEO practices.

Use Structured Data Markup

Structured Data Markup in web content helps Google algorithms better index. This markup improves the understanding of the content. Even, google loves structured data. Structured Data Markup includes styling, images, more information, and visual enhancement which enhance website performance and their search engine listing.

Add the primary keyword to create a 2-3% keyword density

Keyword density is the main focusing part of on-page SEO. Keyword density refers to the number of times you used your keywords on a webpage or a post. If you used correctly, it can help in ranking and boost page visibility, but if you ignored it can fall your ranking and also remove it from SERPs.

Write naturally, use LSI Keywords (Latent Semantic Index) to boost your on-Page SEO and avoid keyword stuffing. The ideal keyword density is around 2-3%.

Write high-quality and unique content

The king of the on-Page SEO is the quality content that is free of spellings and grammatical errors. Make sure you use your focus keywords in the first paragraph as well as the title of your blog. You can also use tools like Ahrefs, Ubersuggest, and Answerthepublic.

Be sure that your content is completely unique as duplicate content can highly impact search engine rankings. At least 1300 Words is a new norm.

Wrap subheadings in an H2 tag

The second most important heading is H2. Utilizing header labels for your subheadings permits web crawlers to build a clear picture of your page, and the sub-topics you’ve expounded on. Not only search engines, but also users will also love it as well.

Add Relevant & high-quality inbound and outbound links

Internal Linking is the most utilized strategy in on-page SEO, yet it is something you should focus on. The objective is to consistently keep search engines and users moving further into the site, so be sure to them internally using anchor text or keyword phrase genuinely.

An outbound link or external Link is a great idea to increase your SEO Score. While linking an external website, you should link the trusted website only. Outbound high-quality links can help search engines decide the overall value of your content. Ensure you use a relevant anchor text and focus on the dofollow and nofollow tag.

Images with Alt text + Meaningful name

Alt-text is not just about web design, alt text helps search engines like google to understand the image on your post or web page. Web crawlers can’t identify the image, so, it’s better to use relevant alt text and caption to help crawler to learn about your image.

However if possible include your keyword in the alt text. In fact, keywords in the alt text help to make your blog post more focused, engaged and targeted.

That’s All

These are the few steps of the On-Page SEO checklist for beginners that will help you optimize your website.  But On-Page SEO alone isn’t enough to get your page to rank. Optimizing your website for the succeeding year may be overwhelming. If you find yourself lacking time to do so.
